King to Host 2010 NHL Draft

It won’t be announced by the league until early December, but Kings officials have been told that Los Angeles will host the NHL Entry Draft next June. It’s still to be determined whether the event will be held at Staples Center or Nokia Center, but the dates will be June 25-26. By all accounts, it will be the same format, with the first round on Friday night and the rest on Saturday. Pretty cool news. Now let’s hope the Kings keep up their solid play and it ends up being a later-first round pick.

Glad to see the Kings finally getting out of the leagues basement. I’ve been waiting for two years to see this happen.
